In this Session, Michele Pouliot provides an in-depth look at two critical techniques for shaping behavior: collar cues and body cues.

In modern dog training, the leash has been all but forgotten as a communication tool. Collar and body cues can be valuable elements in any training plan and can add a new dimension to your training program. Learn how these cues provide important, positive communication in the training of guide dogs for the blind, and how to teach the cues via the clicker.

Initially teaching a dog how to yield to fixed pressure quickly progresses to teaching the most sensitive of responses to very light collar cues. When your dog understands how to move in response to light collar and body cues, it opens a gateway to faster, more efficient training, and provides a competitive advantage with a low stress level for both you and your dog.

Join top guide-dog trainer and WCFO multi-world champion freestyler Michele Pouliot as she demonstrates how collar and body cues give you just the right touch. Session will include extensive video footage.

Recommended for anyone competing in a canine sport (freestyle, rally, obedience, agility, etc.) or anyone training a “working” service or guide dog.
